Stephen's Private FTP Server
Welcome to my personal FTP site
If you would like to browse my files, you will need two things.
- a FTP client (i.e.; WS_FTP, SmartFTP, CoreFTP, commandline client,
internet browser, etc.)
- a username and password
To access the FTP site
There are two ways to connect:
- using a FTP Client
- using an internet browser
You must type the IP address (i.e.; ftp://xxx.xxx.xxx), found in the Connecting to the FTP site section, for either method.
When using an internet browser, enter the IP address like this example: ftp://<username>@xxx.xxx.xxx:21. You will not be able to upload files with the internet browser.
When using a FTP client, you do not need to specify the protocol ftp:// or the port :21 since most FTP clients only support the FTP protocol and assume port 21. The FTP client will
prompt you for your username and password.
If you cannot connect
The FTP site is not alway available. It is a private server and I take it offline often. You may try on most weekdays between 16:00 and 21:00
PST (GMT 00:00 and 05:00) or on weekends between 08:00 and 21:00 PST (GMT 16:00 and 05:00).
Uploading and Downloading
Upload all files to the incoming/ folder. You will not be allowed to upload files into any other folder. Once a file has been uploaded, it can not be modified or deleted.
You may download files from any folder to which you have access. This includes all files in the pub/ folders. You are not allowed to download files from the incoming/ folder.
If you do not have a username and password
It will be difficult to obtain a username and password if I do not know you. I can not be bribed, unless.... Once you have a username and password, follow the instructions above.
