Armi Galesi Brescia Brevetto .22LR

I went out today with an Armi Galesi Brescia Brevetto .22LR that was loaned to me. This small pistol is also known as the Galesi Pocket Model 6 or Pocket Model 9. This particluar gun was manufactured in 1955 (the year the gun was made is stamped on the frame). The gun is not highly prized by collectors and usually sells for $100 to $150. The gun weighs about 22oz.

Vegas Baby! Yeah!

Yep, I just visitied Lost Wages. We flew out on Friday on US Airways. Our flight was delayed by 1 hour. On Saturday we had cocktails and ate at Pure (64th floor of Mandalay Bay -- figure $100 per head) and we saw Zumanity in New York New York. Sunday we spent some more time in the casinos and had a nice dinner and cigars. We returned on Monday but with a lot of difficulty. We were originally on US Airways 9:44am flight but it was cancelled. We were switched to another US Airways flight that was also cancelled. Finally we were switched to Frontier and made it home 3 hours late. I will not fly with US Airways again. Frontier now has my Las Vegas flight business.

Permutation and Combination

These are two equations that people confuse -- combination and permutation. Permutations are ordered choices and count all choices that have the same elements but different orders as independant choices. Combinations are unordered choices and count all choices that have the same elements in different orders as a singe choice. Below the variable n is the number of elements to pick from and r is the number of total elements in choice.

Permutation examples: {1, 2, 3}, {1, 3, 2}, {2, 1, 3}, {2, 3, 1}, {3, 1, 2}, {3, 2, 1} all are treated as separate choices.

Read this as n choose r:

Combination example: {1, 2, 3}, {1, 3, 2}, {2, 1, 3}, {2, 3, 1}, {3, 1, 2}, {3, 2, 1} all are treated as the same choice.
