Rapira Platinum Lux Double Edge Razor Blades

The second Russian blade I have tried is nearly as good as the Japanese Feather brand.

The Rapira Platinum Lux Double Edge Razor Blades were fantastic on the first pass (not quite as good as Feather). I completed my shave with a three-pass close shave for the best shave I have had since the original Merkur blade.

I was not as impressed with the performance of this blade. I did a single-pass quick shave like with the Feather blades. I found the Feather blade did a better job, but the Voskhod was better than the Persona.

Feather Hi-Stainless Platinum Double Edge Razor Blade

I originally purchased the safety razor a few months ago. The best shave I ever experienced with the DE razor came from the Merkur blade that was shipped with the razor. I have a box of 100 Persona blades that have been doing a fine job, but not as well as the initial shave with the premium blade.

I tried this premium blade first. This blade out performed the Persona blades on the first pass. I was using the same Merkur DE razor, Proraso soap, and Escali brush to make the comparison. There was no drag or pulling across my heavy, four-day stubble.
