I had my 19 month MRI scan last Friday (Aug, 27 2010). I have looked at the images and found no new growth at the tumor site. Good news for me!

Relay for Life

Who would have thought that their luminary bag would be found at the Bakersfield Relay for Life? I didn't eve know I had a bag until I got a picture of it from my brother. My mom had bought the bag to help raise money for cancer research. During the walk, my brother's co-worker BJ found it and took a picture with his phone. He sent it to my brother who then forwarded it on to me. I had to call my mom to see if she had bought it. I never thought I would be on this side of the cancer line. Cancer Sucks!

One Year Anniversary

Today is my one year anniversary for my second clival chondrosarcoma surgery. One year ago, the doctor had to open my skull between my ear and right eye to remove the rest of the tumor. Now I have titanium in my leg (screws from ACL replacement) and in my skull. I keep fighting everyday!

Today is my one year anniversary for my first clival chondrosarcoma surgery. It has been one year since a golf ball size tumor was removed from my brain through my nose. I keep fighting everyday!

One year anniversary MRI scan

Today I had my 1 year MRI scan. The tumor was located around my optic nerve and pressing into my brain stem. The latest images show very little tumor left in that area and it is well scarred from radiation.

One Year Anniversary

Posted on December 15, 2009 | Stephen

Today is my one year anniversary of being diagnosed with a clival chondrosarcoma. One year ago I was called the day after my MRI with the news that I had a golf ball size brain tumor growing under my pituitary, around my optic nerve and pressing into my brain stem.

DO NOT GO GENTLE INTO THAT GOOD NIGHT

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
