Dinner Out

It was my ninth anniversary last month so I took my wife out for dinner on Saturday. We have a tradition of eating at Massimo's in Fremont every year. We always ask to be seated in the main dinning room in a booth and in Ted's section. Ted is one hell of a waiter. His Caesar Salad (made table-side) is the best we have ever had.
We started out the night with a cocktail in the lounge. I had Maker's Mark neat and my wife had a Pinot Grigio. When we were seated, we ordered Ted's excellent Caesar salad and a bottle of 2006 Sterling Cabernet Sauvignon.
My wife always orders the outstanding Veal ala Massimo and I enjoy the baked lasagna. My wife has tried veal at other restaurants, but at Massimo's the veal is soft and flavorful. I judge an Italian restaurant by how well they can make the basics like lasagna. So far, Massimo's is one of the best I have had. We finished with Banana's Foster (made talbe-side) for dessert.
