Before we went down to Long Beach for Michelle's sister's wedding, we decided to make a vacation out of our trip back to the Bay Area.

Saturday after the wedding, we traveled to Michelle's aunt's house in Redondo Beach. We spent some time on the beach and at her aunt's house talking with family and drinking beer. We went back to our hotel room in Long Beach that night.

Sunday morning we traveled north with Michelle's Mom and Dad to Ventura. Tom has a beautiful 42' sail boat with enough electronics on-board to lauch the space shuttle.

Sunday afternoon, Michelle and I headed north to Santa Barbara. We didn't have a hotel reservation, but we were not worried. We would take anything that was available. We pulled up to the only hotel with a vacant sign and Michelle hopped out while I waited in the car. Michelle was waiting in line when a man walked up and asked her if she wanted a room. Well of course we did, so he took her back to a B&B. we checked into one of the most romantic B&Bs in Santa Barbara. The Villa Rosa was a unexpected suprise. We met a wonderful German couple when we checked. During the Wine and Cheese cocktail hour, we talked with our new friends about German and America. They had been traveling the southwest for quite a while. The four of us when out to dinner at the Enterprise Fish Company. Then we walked out on the pier after dinner.

Monday morning, Michelle and I went down stairs for breakfast. We met our friends one last time and said goodbye. Michelle and I then walked up and down State st. shopping. We sat outside and had lunch at Pascucci's. The day was beautiful.

Monday afternoon, we decided to head home. Travelling through Pasa Robles, we stopped at two wineries. At Mastantuono [1,2] we bought a Sangiovese Rose and a Chardonay. At Arciero [1,2], we picked up anther Chardonay (Cupa Gandis) and a Petit Syrah (Cupa Grandis). We finally pulled into our driveway late in the afternoon.
